Bud Oil (Eugenia Caryophyllata)
This essential oil is vapor distilled from the buds, and is
found in Madagascar. It has a strong, spicy aroma. It is used
for nausea emesis, flatulence, languid indigestion, dyspepsia,
respiratory infections, and chiefly to assist the action of
other medicines. It is used as an expectorant in phthisis and
bronchial troubles, in dental preparations, and as a fragrance
component in toothpastes, soaps, toiletries, cosmetics and
perfume. It is also used as a flavour ingredient in major food
categories, alcoholic and soft drinks. It is stimulating,
carminative, germicidal, antiseptic, and anaesthetic.
